KING GARDEN
Welcome to the King Garden, a colorful and inviting space located within a landscaped golf course community. Created and maintained by Nikki and Rick King, the garden reflects their hands-on approach and passion for plants, which shine through every corner and offer visitors a warm, abundant experience.
Set against a backdrop of mature oak trees, the garden delights with seasonal color and texture. An engaging and diverse mix of evergreen conifers, Japanese maple trees, flowering shrubs, vines, perennials, and annuals ensures year-round beauty and a spectacular spring show.
Throughout the garden, deer-resistant chartreuse foliage adds contrast and light. Florida Sunshine illicium, golden oregano, catmint, Everillo carex sedge and sedum are used to both brighten shady areas and energize sunny spots, tying the garden together with a cohesive and inviting palette. Deciduous shrubs like Candy Corn® Spirea offer multi-season interest with vivid, dark pink spring flowers and evolving leaf colors.
Meandering paths guide visitors to charming, rusted metal sculptures and cast garden statuary, each adding a personal touch to the landscape. Water features enhance the sensory experience, including a raised aquatic habitat, home to pitcher plants, rice fish and frogs. A ceramic fountain, centrally placed along the back path, provides a refreshing spot for birds and pollinators.
Whether you’re an experienced gardener or just enjoy spending time in nature, the King Garden offers a friendly space full of life and inspiration. More than a landscape, it’s a place to explore, relax, and connect with the joy of gardening.
